April Fools

Today in the US April 1st is known as April Fools' Day.
It is the day to play practical jokes, and tricks, on your loved ones.
No one is to be trusted on this day, and it should be full of face palms and laughter.
It is also the first day off from our year round homeschooling.
We're taking a month break before we start our "first grade" year.
I want to shout, "APRIL FOOLS'", because we all know the learning and schooling never stop.
Am I going to discontinue reading bedtime stories to my kid this month? Of course not.
Am I going to ignore the wonders in our garden this month? Nope.
There will be educational opportunities. There always are.
I just won't be logging everything we do. I know not all homeschool parents/teachers write down everything on a daily basis. I do. It's part of who I am. When it comes to my kid, I keep records.
I once tracked how much milk she drank between doctor visits,
but that's another story for a different day. (Being a preemie momma changes you)
I'm just giving myself a break to put her portfolio together and plan for the next year.
I wanted to share the best picture book for today- April Foolishness by Teresa Bateman and illustrated by Nadine Bernard Westcott.

This book is hilarious. The illustrations complement the text masterfully.
We read this one on any day of the year, especially when we need a laugh.
April Foolishness will remain in my library for a long time.
